Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Cleaning Equipment Repair Technician to join our service team. You’ll diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of commercial cleaning equipment while delivering outstanding service to our customers. This position offers a mix of field and in-shop work, giving you the opportunity to showcase your technical expertise and customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair small engines, electrical systems, and mechanical components of cleaning equipment, including floor scrubbers, burnishers, and extractors.
- Perform preventative maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and longevity.
- Assess and repair appliance-level systems such as vacuum motors, pumps, and spray systems.
- Maintain accurate service records, including repairs performed and parts used.
- Manage a daily schedule, coordinate service activities, and communicate effectively with customers regarding timelines and expectations.
- Ensure proper inventory management and organization of tools, parts, and equipment in the service vehicle and workshop.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including sales and technical support, to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Adhere to safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Qualifications
Required:
- Strong expertise in diagnosing and repairing small engines and appliance-level systems.
- Knowledge of basic electrical systems, circuits, and troubleshooting.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in equipment, small engine, or appliance repair.
- Proficiency with tools, diagnostic equipment, and basic computer applications, including MS Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Physical ability to lift up to 60 pounds and perform physical tasks like bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
Preferred:
- Vocational training in small engines, appliances, or electrical systems a plus but not required.
- Experience repairing commercial cleaning equipment or similar machinery a plus but not required.
- Experience in automotive repair is a plus but not required.
