High School Enrollment Coordinator

The High School Enrollment Counselor is responsible for the administrative duties associated with BRCTC high school enrollment programs. These duties include application processing, registration, academic advisement, attendance tracking, grade reporting, placement testing, and high school recruitment visits. The High School Enrollment Counselor works closely with members of Enrollment Management to ensure all high school students maintain equal access to student services. The High School Enrollment Counselor works in collaboration with the Office of Admissions, Office of Student Services, high school partners, and Vice President of Enrollment to administratively support the enrollment of high school students.

This position is located at the Blue Ridge CTC Main Campus, but may report to all Blue Ridge CTC locations as required to meet the needs of the position.
 
This position will include managing a virtual office as needed.The Counselor is expected to work in collaboration with Enrollment Management to continually grow the number of high school students enrolled at BRCTC. The High School Enrollment Counselor will work with public-school and homeschool students in the tri-state region. 
 

• Develop annual calendar for high school enrollment to implement a timeline for recruitment, enrollment, testing, registration, retention, and reporting. 
• Serve as the LevelUp advisor for high school students enrolled in eligible state-funded programs.
• Actively recruit high school students by visiting local high schools. Collect registration forms and assist students in the enrollment process. 
• Process high school applications and register students. 
• Maintain accurate records of all high school students enrolled at the College to comply with required high school attendance and grade reporting. 
• Work with students and high school counselors to resolve issues that arise throughout the enrollment process as it relates to achievement, attendance, etc. 
• Perform academic advisement appointments with students to promote a cohesive registration and enrollment process. 
• Perform high school student orientations at the beginning of each academic year. 
• Perform a variety of recruitment activities, include public speaking events. 
• Establish and maintain a database for reporting high school students’ placement after high school graduation (i.e., enroll at BRCTC, enroll at 4-year, enter the military, enter the workforce).
• Participate in recruitment events (open house, high school night, onsite BRCTC tours, etc.) to promote enrollment both on and off campus. 
• The HS Counselor will also help to support Admissions activities on the degree-seeking side of the house.
• Support all divisions of Blue Ridge CTC including assisting throughout the Enrollment Management Office.
• Other duties as assigned. 

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, psychology, human services or related field. 

 Experience

• Previous experience/employment working with high school students and/or in higher education.

Preferred Qualifications

• Student Systems experience such as BANNER
• Teaching/advising experience in a secondary or post-secondary environment. 
• Working knowledge of college enrollment processes and procedures.

 Licensure/Certification Required

•  Valid driver’s license required.
