Position Type : Full-Time Temp-to-Hire / Direct Hire
Location : Midwest or Remote with 50% Travel
Pay : $100-150k
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Control Systems, or a related field preferred but not required. Preference may be given to applicants with extensive on the job experience or with any of the following certifications : PE, PMP, CSIA, or UL508A. BS Degree in Industrial, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Development : Lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced automation solutions for various processes, including machine control, instrumentation, HMI, SCADA, control power distribution, and process controls.
- Project Leadership : Manage and oversee complex automation projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget and quality standards.
- Mentorship : Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior automation engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
- Collaboration : Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify automation needs and develop tailored solutions.
- Troubleshooting : Troubleshoot and resolve complex automation-related issues promptly.
- Documentation : Document automation processes, procedures, and system configurations for future reference and compliance purposes.
- Testing and Validation : Conduct rigorous testing and validation of automated systems to ensure they meet performance and quality standards.
- Industry Standards : Ensure all projects adhere to relevant industry standards, including S88, UL 508A, and CSIA, through regular audits and evaluations.
- Design, develop, and optimize batch processing systems to improve efficiency, consistency, and product quality.
- Optimize liquid and material flow in batch processing systems by applying fluid and thermal dynamics principles.
- Ensure CIP systems are optimized for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with hygiene and regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, GMP).
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and quality teams to integrate CIP and batch processing systems emphasizing performance analysis and providing improvement recommendations based on key performance indicators (KPIs) for batch processing and CIP systems.
- Develop and update process documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process flow diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Provide technical support and training to operators, technicians, and other staff to ensure procedures are followed.
- Monitor industry advancements and contribute to the implementation of new technologies and best practice.
Job Requirements
Experience in dairy operations or other manufacturing industries focusing on batch processing and CIP systems.
