The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the overall functionality and safety of the hotel's facilities, including guest rooms, common areas, and specialized areas like the pool and spa. This position requires a CPO (Certified Pool Operator) certification which Boothill inn will pay for, the ability to drive the hotel shuttle, and the responsibility for keeping accurate inventory and labor logs.
Key Responsibilities:
- General Maintenance & Repairs: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on hotel systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and general building upkeep.
- Pool & Spa Maintenance: Maintain and monitor the hotel’s pool and spa, ensuring proper chemical balance, cleanliness, and equipment functionality. Follow all safety protocols and maintain compliance with local regulations.
- Shuttle Operation: Drive the hotel shuttle as needed, providing guests with safe and timely transportation to and from local destinations.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory logs for all maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment. Order supplies as necessary to ensure the department is well-stocked.
- Contracted Labor Coordination: Maintain detailed logs of all contracted labor, including third-party services for specialized repairs or maintenance, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance to avoid breakdowns and extend the life of hotel equipment and systems.
- Emergency Response: Respond to maintenance requests and emergency repair needs from staff or guests, ensuring minimal disruption to hotel operations.
- Safety & Compliance: Conduct safety checks, ensuring all hotel areas meet health and safety standards, and adhere to all local building codes and regulations.
- Record Keeping: Log all maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory changes accurately for tracking and future reference.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or training in maintenance or a related field is preferred.
- CPO (Certified Pool Operator) certification required for pool and spa maintenance. Boothill inn will pay for certification.
- Proven experience in hotel maintenance or a similar maintenance role, with knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, and general building upkeep.
- Ability to operate and maintain hotel shuttle when required.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly for managing inventory and labor logs.
- Ability to work independently and handle emergency situations efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact positively with guests, staff, and contractors.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, perform physical tasks, and work in varying environmental conditions.
- Ability to keep accurate records and manage multiple tasks effectively.
