The Trailer Technicians are responsible for repairing and maintaining trailers to ensure efficient operation and compliance by performing the following duties.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Occasionally on Saturday depending on workload.

Responsibilities:

• Inspects, adjusts, and repairs trailers with minor problems.
• Ensures equipment is functioning properly and within Department of Transportation compliance.
• Troubleshoots electrical/mechanical malfunctions on air brakes, switches, lighting circuits, control valves, relief valves, and other items.
• Adjusts mechanical items such as doors and slack adjusters.
• Performs light maintenance such as replacing/repairing marker lights, seals, airbags, and mud flaps.
• Performs trailer body repairs such as patching of roofs, panels, rail repairs, door sections, floor sections, cross-member replacement, etc.
• Minor welding repairs.
• Repairs/replaces tires, wheel bearings and seals.
• Changes fluids and filters as necessary.
• Replace and adjust brakes for proper function.
• Inspects and cleans parts; submits orders if part must be replaced.
• Confirms proper function of equipment and truck after maintenance.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Must meet inspector qualifications outlines by FMCSA section CFR 396.17
• Willing and able to work without direct supervision.
• 2 years related experience (Preferred).
• Licensed Mechanic Journeyman preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

• 12 hour shift
• 8 hour shift

Experience:

• Diesel engine repair: 1 year (Preferred)
• Mechanical knowledge: 1 year (Preferred)

Ability to Commute:

• Laredo, TX 78045 (Required)

Ability to Relocate:

• Laredo, TX 78045: Relocate before starting work (Required)
