BMCC Au Pair Experience, a Borough of Manhattan Community College program, is hiring Continuing Education Teachers
Looking for dynamic, fun, and focused ESL instructors to teach international students for one-weekend workshops. Class maximum of 26 students, but the average size is around 20. The students are au pairs in the United States on the J-1 visa and by and large extremely pleasant and excited to learn. The students are particularly interested in English for the workplace and all ways to improve their career prospects.
Qualifications and Pay:
Bachelor’s degree required; MA in education, preferably TESOL, or a related field preferred. Experience teaching adult learners, in the US or abroad required, with an understanding of classroom management techniques and using entirely digital and online materials. Energy and enthusiasm an absolute must.
Pay ranges from $42/hr to $48/hr. Teachers are compensated for preparation and grading. Review of pre- and post-assignments with feedback is required. Material and lesson plans for the class will be a collaboration between the instructor and Education Coordinator.
