Job Overview:
The Division of Pediatric Endocrinology at Boston Children’s Health Physicians of NY/CT is seeking a Full-time nutritionist to join our team to provide nutritional support for pediatric patients with endocrinological conditions, including Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes mellitus. The ideal candidate will bring experience in diabetes education and support, strong interpersonal skills, and a compassionate approach to working with young patients and their families. This role involves direct outpatient education, transitioning to outpatient care at diagnosis, and contributing to community outreach efforts. Position will be up to 35 hours per week, schedule determined based on availability and practice needs. Salary will be $81,000-$109,000, negotiable based on experience.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in nutrition.
- Certification: NYS Certified Dietitian with ability for independent billing.
Job Skills and Experience Desired:
- Ability to develop and implement individualized nutrition plans for patients with diabetes, and endocrine related conditions.
- Collaborate with endocrinologists, pediatric nurses, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals to develop and adjust personalized care plans that address the unique needs of pediatric patients.
- Offer continual support and counseling to patients and families, helping them navigate diabetes management and address emotional and lifestyle challenges.
- Stay current with diabetes education practices, participating in relevant training, and contributing to department goals and quality improvement.
Preferred:
- Candidates who have prior experience working with children with Type 1 diabetes mellitus
- Experience with insulin pump therapy, continuous glucose monitoring (CGM), and other diabetes technology.
- Bilingual skills (Spanish or other languages commonly spoken in the community).
- Candidates with RD/CDE degree would be given preference
