Boston Ski and Tennis in Newton, Ma, is hiring a full-time and a part time Tennis Professionals to drive exceptional customer service through our tennis services and our large selection of tennis goods for this upcoming season. We pride ourselves on being able to help our customers excel in all sports. Our Tennis Pro helps recommend everything from racquets to string type as well as assisting with apparel and footwear. Key Responsibilities of the Tennis Pro
Offers superior customer service while selling merchandise and assisting management as needed with merchandising and tennis inventory needs
Responsible for efficient and friendly customer service throughout the shop and accurately ringing up charges at the register.This also includes proper cash handling procedures as well as making sure that all standards of operations are being met.
Converse with customers in a friendly manner. Focus your attention on customer needs and remain calm, professional, and courteous always, even when under pressure.
Maximize sales by keeping their areas stocked, properly signed and merchandised, and following all operations processes
Ability to quickly build rapport with players of all experience levels
Ability to simplify insights when speaking with newer players, yet also builds rapport with seasoned professionals by leveraging their on-the-court experience and knowledge
Leverages on-the-court tennis expertise to provide recommendations that meets the customer’s needs / goals
Translates / aligns product technology to the customer’s needs and preferences; contributing to and enhancing the athlete’s overall game experience
Educate customers about equipment services provided at the store (including racquet stringing services)
Knowledge of various tennis brands, technology, and latest trends
Actively involved in tennis-related activities (i.e. players, coaches, associates with competitive clubs, plays in leagues, etc.) and / or stays up-to-date on every aspect of the game
Qualifications:
Strong customer service skill
Ability to string tennis racquets or willing to learn to string tennis racquets
Team player who works well in a collaborative environment and is eager to learn new skills from others
Strong multitasker capable of working in a high-energy, fast-paced retail setting
Passionate about creating an inviting atmosphere for customers and staff alike
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
Able to stand for long periods and due some moderate lifting.
