TITLE: Program Lead
DEPARTMENT: Program
REPORTS TO: Director of Operations
CLASSIFICATION: Part-Time
HOURS: Monday – Friday, hours vary
Pay Rate: rate $15-$18 per hour
The Program Lead reports to the Director of Operations. The primary role is to learn to become a confident leader in all areas of Boys & Girls Club operations. This person will fill in where needed but become an integral part of succession planning.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities)
Leadership
• Provides guidance and development for part-time staff. Assist in preparing newly hired staff to work with program participants, help frontline staff members understand their roles, and contribute to a positive work culture.
• Assists with food service, kitchen staff, and the CACFP & SFSP food programs at the unit/site.
• Assists in coordinating programs that are evidence-based and align with the Boys & Girls Clubs goals and objectives to strengthen academic success in members.
• Assists with paperwork and reports including attendance, program reports, and the remind app.
• Understands and assures the implementation of organizational policies, procedures, and goals while maintaining a safe, positive environment necessary for youth development.
Prepare Youth for Success
• Communicates with a strength-based approach to develop positive relationships with all youth.
• Respects and honors cultural and human diversity.
• Identifies potential risk and protective factors for youth.
• Demonstrates the qualities of a positive role model.
• Help to develop STEM and other curriculum. Organize binders for teams.
Professional Development
• Assists with YDP trainings
• Attends Spillet, DESE, and other leadership trainings
Relationships
• Internal - Maintain close, daily contact with Club professional staff to interpret and explain organizational mission, program objectives and standards, discuss issues, and provide/receive information. Has regular contact with members as needed to discipline, advise, and counsel.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist in the development and program implementation of grant funded programs.
• Must be able to work hours listed, will often be responsible for closing program/building.
• Fill in where needed at any site
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience
• 1-3 years’ experience in youth guidance and development programs preferred
• CPR and first aid certified or be willing to become certified
• Management skills are necessary. Proven ability to supervise Club staff and volunteers
• Knowledge of (and access to) community organizations and assistance agencies
• Must possess excellent written and verbal skills
• Must have the ability and desire to work with youth in a variety of environments
• Must have the ability to work independently and efficiently without direct supervision
• Ability to pass background screening and drug test
