Position Summary:
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Citrus County is seeking a passionate and skilled Pizza Truck Operator/Chef to run our Blue Door Pizza Workforce Kitchen food truck. This role involves preparing and serving high-quality pizzas while mentoring and supervising youth participants in a workforce development setting. The ideal candidate will have experience in food preparation, customer service, and basic food truck operations, with a commitment to supporting our mission of empowering young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Food Preparation & Cooking:
- Prepare and cook pizzas and other menu items in a timely manner.
- Ensure food quality and consistency while following health and safety standards.
- Truck Operations & Maintenance:
- Operate and drive the pizza truck to various locations for events, fundraisers, and community programs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the truck, equipment, and food storage areas.
- Perform basic truck maintenance checks (e.g., fuel levels, equipment functionality).
- Youth Mentorship & Workforce Development:
- Supervise and train youth participants in food handling, customer service, and teamwork skills.
- Foster a positive and supportive learning environment for youth involved in the program.
- Customer Service & Sales:
- Provide excellent customer service while taking orders, handling cash/card transactions, and engaging with the community.
- Promote the Boys & Girls Clubs’ mission and programs while operating the truck at events.
- Compliance & Safety:
- Adhere to local health department regulations, food safety protocols, and sanitation guidelines.
- Ensure safe handling of food, equipment, and cooking procedures at all times.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience in food service, culinary arts, or food truck operations preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to mentor and engage with youth in a professional and encouraging manner.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (experience driving large vehicles preferred).
- ServSafe Manager certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
Work Schedule & Compensation:
- Part-time position: Flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, based on events and program needs.
- Hourly pay: Competitive, based on experience.
