Class: Non-Exempt, Part Time
Hourly Rate: Starting at $30.00/hr
Pay Range: $30.00-$37.00/hr
Hours: Up to 29 hrs/wk, M-F, excluding recess periods; occasional evening and Saturday hours
Location: Family Youth Outreach Program and remote work available
 
Job Summary: Provide early mental health consultation and clinical support to early childhood providers serving youth ages 0-8 and their families. Community based work providing direct in-person and virtual support to ECE providers, teachers, staff and families in order to ensure child success. Provide coaching and utilize reflective practices.
 
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Create an environment that promotes the physical, social, and emotional well-being of youth and their families by coordinating quality mental health services, improving child’s functioning and ensuring services are coordinated and accessed in a timely manner 
  • Adhere to proper documentation procedures according to Behavioral Board of Science and BGCGG standards
  • Effectively monitor and evaluate programs, services and activities by completing weekly client services log and direct services hour logs, monthly attendance tracking and submitting to supervisor
  • Create school climates that are responsive to mental health needs and promote success
  • Respond effectively to children’s developmental, social, emotional, and behavioral needs 
  • Consider all relationships influencing young children’s well-being, both adult-child relationships and those between the adults caring for children
  • Reframe children’s behavior to problem solve and practice new ways of responding to children’s needs 
  • Maintain knowledge and skills in understanding the impact of trauma on young children and develop a trauma-informed lens to inform their approaches working with young children
  • Awareness and connection to community resources.  
  • Develop inclusive and equitable policies and procedures that reflect a commitment to serving all children and families
  • Attend weekly supervision
  • Maintain knowledge of social and emotional development, relational health, resilience, and well-being of young children and the adults who care for them; how to promote social and emotional competence and trauma-informed practices in child care and early education settings.
  • Plan and execute regularly scheduled meetings; provide clear, timely and accurate information; complete and provide feedback through introductory and yearly evaluations by established deadlines
  • Promote staff/provider health and well-being; provide ongoing feedback and regular appraisal 
  • Maintain a healthy and safe environment, ensuring facilities, equipment and supplies are well kept
  • Ensure weekly progress reports are submitted  
  •  Identify and support professional development opportunities for self and team 
  • Effectively use Microsoft Office programs, electronic scheduling, evaluation and database software   
  • Maintain communication and professionalism with school personnel, clients, parents, community partners and other BGCGG departments
  • Ensure self and team respond to phone messages, emails and other forms of communication within two business days
  • Ensure staff report all Child Abuse cases to CAR and their partners immediately; complete CAR reports as needed; adhere to all legal and ethical standards by the state regulatory board (BBS)
  • Recognize potential issues and apply problem solving as needed; work productively with minimum supervision and to take initiative on projects
  • Apply critical thinking skills when problem solving; develop a high quality program through planning and goal setting
  • Work with diverse populations in a culturally competent manner
  • Maintain knowledge of HIPAA, BBS, SARB, SSA and of administrative and clerical procedures and systems 
Additional Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance and resources to staff as necessary; provide coaching as necessary
  • Assist HR with recruiting, selecting assigned staff and volunteers, and job training for hired staff

Qualifications


Qualifications
  • BA in Psychology, Human Services, Education, or Early Education 
  • Preferred MFT, PPS, LCSW or MSW post-graduate intern with BBS Intern Number
  • Minimum one year experience working with youth ages 0-8
  • Experience providing trainings
  • Must have and maintain valid Professional Liability Insurance (Malpractice Insurance) if applicable
  • Bilingual capabilities preferred
  • Reliable transportation, safe driving record, California driver license, two years of driving experience, and automobile insurance required
  • Position may require standing/sitting for extended periods of time, dexterity of hands and fingers to operate office equipment, reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally, bending at the waist; seeing to review and analyze reports, documents or other reports; hearing and speaking to communicate and provide information to others; speaking to be heard before groups of people; position may require to lift, carry, pull or otherwise move objects between 10-20 pounds
