Job description JOB STATEMENT: Responsible for working with maintenance and janitorial staff to maintain the buildings and grounds of the organization, directing and overseeing the upkeep of equipment and supplies. This is a hands-on managerial role. ACCOUNTABLE AND RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FOLLOWING RESULTS: · Manage maintenance of the buildings, grounds and vehicles as needed including oversight of approximately 45,000 sqft of commercial and 40,000 sqft of residential space at multiple locations ensuring a safe, aesthetically pleasing environment at all times. · Supervise the maintenance staff providing hands on learning and coaching for the team. · Work with CFO to negotiate, coordinate and monitor contracts with outside vendors for projects and on-going maintenance activities. · Oversee and coordinate state, local and fire department inspections annually as well as DEEC and DESE inspections of all buildings as well as Board of Health inspections of the residences and kitchens. · Plan and implement annual Pest Management Plan to meet Department of Agriculture requirements · Ensure adequate and safe snow removal plan is in place including coordination with outside vendor for plowing as well as utilization of in-house resources for clearing walkways and other areas. · Maintain fleet of vehicles including routine maintenance and repair and keeping registrations and inspections current. · Work collaboratively with residential and educational leadership to develop processes for tracking and monitoring maintenance and repair needs. · Direct the facility planning needs for Conference Center and other outside conference uses of agency space including coordination of room set up and planning. · Develop long term planning systems for routine maintenance. · Oversee the cleaning program for the agency. · Participate as a member of the Risk Management Committee. · Provide weekly maintenance reports to CFO and others as needed. · Monitor and manage maintenance budget. · Participate in staff training including administering Driver Safety training for new hires. Comply at all times with federal, state and local regulations and licensing requirements. Represent the agency in a highly professional manner. · Demonstrates an empathic understanding of complex trauma and its effects including abuse, loss, and neglect that youth bring to placement. · Demonstrates an awareness of the physical and emotional environment by contributing to the residence being a place that is emotionally and physically safe, nurturing, appropriately engaging and stimulating, which fosters growth and resilience. · Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested by supervisory or administrative staff. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION: · Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) Certification are required to be successfully completed before the end of the 90 day new employee probation period and are required to be maintained throughout employment. Employee will also be required to complete a CARE 5 day certification course during first year of employment. Agency scheduled and required trainings, E-Learning trainings as assigned, and any other program specific training as scheduled. Continued skill development and maintain certifications. · Must have a valid MA driver’s license and DEEC CORI/DSS background check EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: Bachelors degree preferred; minimum five years experience working in human services/mental health field with supervisory experience; extensive experience with general contracting and facilities maintenance required; familiarity with health and building codes for commercial and residential buildings required PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to lift 100 pounds safely. Ability to participate with active youth, including physical interventions and care for program facilities and equipment. MENTAL DEMANDS: Work well as part of a team and maintain professional boundaries. Emotional impact of working around traumatized youth. Ability to write in a professional and objective manner. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Houses in residential settings as well as commercial facilities.
