I.PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, coordinates the activities of the department and makes work schedules. Monitors the flow of materials, detects product shortages or quality issues. Provides training to the hourly employees. Fills documentation required to complete work orders.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Communicate & monitor production output with employees at all levels.
• Coordinates the activities of the department and makes work schedules.
• Monitors flow of materials and notifies the supervisor of potential shortages or quality issues.
• Fills documentation required to complete work orders.
• Provides training to hourly employees in the areas of production, quality, material handling, equipment, and safety.
• Sorts and disposes non-conforming materials in accordance with established procedures.
• Interacts with personnel from other areas to ensure optimum flow of product.
• Maintains the production area in good housekeeping order according to OSHA guidelines.
• Adheres to and promotes all company safety rules and requirements.
• Adheres to and promotes company’s continuous improvement efforts working with engineering.

II.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

III.KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• High School degree or equivalent required (AA degree preferred).
• Two years work experience in a manufacturing environment (leadership experience preferred).
• Ability to plan, organize, and direct production work required.
• Ability to communicate and work with others required.
• Basic knowledge of computers required.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
• Basic knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles preferred.

IV.PHYSICAL DEMAND

• Capable of lifting up to 35 pounds.

V.WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT

• Moderate noise level.
• Moderate ambient conditions.

Hiring Range: $22.80 - $32.07
