Architect – Project Leader
Our firm is seeking an Architect – Project Leader to join our growing team. This role includes leadership and engagement during all phases of the architectural project development process including programming, conceptual design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration services. The position requires the ability to act as both a project leader and collaborative team member depending on overall firm needs and specific project team size.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Ability to lead a collaborative project team through all phases of the design process to successfully implement a client’s vision.
- Ability to lead a project team in the development of construction documents that meet the design intent and adhere to company standards while overseeing the work of team members and providing support and guidance as needed.
- Prepare for and lead internal project development meetings.
- Prepare for, participate in, and lead client meetings and engagement with stakeholders.
- Create and manage Building Information Modeling (BIM), utilizing Revit® software.
- Coordinate/collaborate with project consultants including engineers (civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing/fire protection), landscape architects, etc.
- Participate in construction administration services including site meetings, Requests for Information (RFI), shop drawing reviews, finish selections, etc.
- Research architectural products and coordinate with specification writer.
- Work in partnership with internal quality assurance team members and follow quality control processes.
- Demonstrate project leadership by mentoring project coordinators, project specialists and entire team throughout the process.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate shall have attained:
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited architecture program
- Minimum 5-10 years of relevant experience
- Professional licensure (Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, and/or Illinois preferred).
- Autodesk Revit® expertise
- Strong organizational skills and comfort level with a fast-paced environment
- Experience managing a project team including delegating work, adhering to the project schedule, and coordinating with specification writers, quality assurance, and consultants
- Communication/presentation skills to lead meetings with project teams, consultants, and clients
- Experience in all phases of architectural projects, obtaining municipal and state approvals, and working with construction managers and general contractors
- Willingness to mentor team members and serve as a resource
Preference will be given to candidates with the following qualifications:
- 10 years of relevant experience
- Bluebeam® Revu expertise
- Autodesk Construction Cloud expertise
- NCARB® certification
- Experience in K-12 and/or higher educational and/or municipal design
- LEED® certification
