Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse.
- Turn and reposition the client frequently to avoid pressure ulcers and maintain comfort.
- Bath the client, ensuring proper hygiene and dignity at all times.
- Assist in the monitoring of patient's health issues and reporting any significant changes to the supervising physician.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient care records and prepare reports as necessary.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor for reactions or side effects.
- Record patients' vital signs and maintain charts that reflect these readings adeptly.
- Support the client’s emotional and psychological needs, providing compassionate care and companionship.
- Operate and maintain all medical and personal care equipment safely and effectively.
- Communicate with family members about the care and condition of clients, ensuring a transparent and supportive environment.
- Follow all protocols and guidelines to ensure the safety and privacy of clients.
- Participate in educational sessions to improve skills and knowledge about patient care and related issues.
