JOB DESCRIPTION - TEACHER
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The classroom teacher will work collaboratively with other building staff members to develop and motivate each student toward an awareness and understanding of the subject matter and/or skills needed to develop into mature, well-rounded, responsible young adults. The teacher will establish positive rapport with students and will encourage them to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed for future success.
Reports to and evaluated by: Building Principal or Designee
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide an optimum learning environment for all students
- Participate in, contribute to, and be supportive of group decisions and efforts
- Collaborate with staff and work in teams to provide instruction to students
- Employ a systematic instructional process designed to meet the needs of students in the classroom
- Engage in purposeful, deliberate planning for instruction
- Follow District and State guidelines for essential learning and instructional strategies
- Work cooperatively with administration and staff in problem solving and group process activities
- Model lifelong learning, positive self-esteem, and respect for others
- Set and maintain high personal, professional, and instructional standards for self and students
- Adhere to Washington Code of Professional Conduct
- Perform other related duties as required or requested
