Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze a variety of business financial documents, including tax filings, income statements, and balance sheets, to assess company value.
• Prepare comprehensive asset-based and market-based valuation reports tailored specifically for small businesses.
• Conduct market research and gather data from relevant databases to identify trends, benchmarks, and comparable company data.
• Collaborate with SMB lenders and financial institutions to ensure that valuation reports meet lending criteria and assist in securing financing or making informed sale decisions.
• Present clear, concise valuation findings to clients and stakeholders, simplifying complex financial data for easy understanding.
• Stay current on valuation standards (USPAP, SSVS No. 1), economic trends, and industry-specific factors that impact small business valuations.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• 2-3 years of experience in small business valuations, ideally with experience using financial statements and tax filings as primary data sources.
• Strong proficiency in financial modeling techniques and advanced Excel functions.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain valuation results to non-financial stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification such as ABV, CVA, or ASA.
• Familiarity with asset-based and market-based valuation methodologies.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in data analysis and reporting.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
