Once an award is made, you will also be responsible for managing grant activities. Your Role
- Identifying and Securing Funding: Identify funding opportunities (federal, state, and/or local grants) that would enable Brightline to pursue and advance multiple initiatives (public safety, system expansion, new stations and facilities, etc.); Understand when these opportunities come out and what are the requirements in order to apply.
- Leading the Grant Application Process: Collaborate with different teams within the organization to understand the project and the different components that need to be included in the grant application; Write the grant, assemble all sections and submit the grant application (i.e. grants.gov) or coordinate with the lead applicant (including state, local, county and federal agencies) in submitting applications, as needed.
- Grant Management and Oversight: Once grants are obtained, the Grant Manager will be responsible for grant management and oversight; Lead the development and execution of grant agreements with legal team and other key partners, such as primary recipient; Host or participate in regular meetings with the grantor and major stakeholders; developing and submitting the required reports (ie. monthly, quarterly, annual) and grant amendment requests.
- Compliance and Reporting: Assist project team in submitting / implementing / monitoring grant compliance requirements, such as the project management plan, Buy America, Davis-Bacon, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise goals, flow-down requirements, etc.; Work with finance team to develop grant invoices, compile back-up, submit invoices, and track invoice progress; Maintain Brightline Florida grant accounts, such Sam.gov, grants.gov, grantsolutions.gov, Delphi, etc.
Your Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in grant writing, grant management/application process oversight, program management, and/or related experience.
- Ability to distill complex situations into digestible content pieces (proposals, reports, updates, stories, etc.) in creative and compelling ways.
- Knowledge of and experience with interpreting and complying with federal and state regulations and procedures concerning economic development as well as federal/state funding programs.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and proven writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Highly organized with strong project management skills, ability to multitask, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Experience with preparing Benefit Cost Analysis preferred
