Job Title: Staff Accountant

Location: Westmont, IL

Pay Range: $65,000 - $70,000

Role Overview: Brilliant Financial Staffing has been engaged in the search for a Staff Accountant. Our client located in Westmont, IL is looking for a Staff Accountant to join their team on a Contract-to-Hire basis. They are seeking an individual that is comfortable with Excel, preparing journal entries, and assisting with AP and AR. Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply immediately!

Key Responsibilities

• Prepares general ledger journal entries, fixed asset tracking, monthly balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliation for 30 to 35 accounts (not complex)
• Manages monthly accounting close cycle
• Monitors receivables to ensure credit risk is mitigated, work with accounting clerk to investigate any complex issues
• Generates and files monthly financial reports
• Assists with accounts payable functions including but not limited to verifying invoices, expense reports, check requests, and purchase requisitions; entering data into accounts payable system; and processing weekly check runs
• Reconciles petty cash fund
• Prepares and analyzes monthly journal entries, 15 - 20 monthly
• Performs daily banking procedures
• Maintains fixed asset and related depreciation schedules
• Assists with annual external audits
• Coordinates annual independent audit and preparation of annual tax documents
• Assists with related special projects as required
• Performs other duties as assigned by manager
  
  

Qualifications

• Excel: Must be comfortable working in excel (create v-lookups and pivot tables)
• Accounting experience, knowledge of debit and credits is a must
• Intangibles: Ability to take direction well and work closely with others while also being able to work independently as needed
