Bristol Bay Area Health Corporation is Hiring a Registered Nurse ICU Near Dillingham, AK

A Permanent ER RN (night shift) is needed for our frontier, coastal community in Southwestern Alaska. We are the salmon capital of the world.

This is a job for the culturally adaptable and geographically flexible. This position is for the adventurous at heart and those yearning to serve an under-served, patient population.

We are a 16-bed critical access facility, comprised of 21 clinics covering the medical needs of 25 tribes in the area.

A VERY robust salary is being offered ($180K DOE and $10K sign-on bonus paid in the first check) with FREE medical, dental, and vision health premiums with BlueCross (honored in all 50 states). Benefits include multiple student loan repayment programs, 30 paid days off, a phenomenal 401K, and No State Income taxes! You get PAID for just living in Alaska (this year roughly $3,000) and our COLA increase was 7% in July! PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Coordinates total nursing care for patients, participates in patient and family teaching and provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional practice in the clinical setting. The registered professional nurse assigned to the Emergency Department (ED) is responsible for providing emergency room services. May be a member of the Medevac Transport Team. The patient population ranges in ages for newborn to geriatric.

QUALIFICATIONS:

l . A registered nurse with a current license in any U.S. State or Territory; must become licensed in Alaska within one year following hire.

2. Must be able to maintain a professional standard of ethics at all times.

3. Must observe confidentiality regulations as established by BBAHC Policy, State of AK and Federal Law.

4. Prefer a minimum of two years-experience.

5. Knowledge of native culture preferred and cultural sensitivity.

6. Ability to initiate, coordinate and complete quality monitoring forms and submit reports to appropriate person.

7. Must demonstrate knowledge principles of growth and development over the life span (e.g., pediatric/adult/geriatric) and possess the ability to access data reflective of the patient's status and intempret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient/family requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed.

8. Be able to travel to villages as necessary.

9. Basic Life Support required.

10. ACLS and PALS required to staff the Emergency Department.

11. NRP preferred for L&D staffing.

12. TNCC preferred for Emergency Department staffing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

l. Management of Inpatient/ER Services.

2. Demonstrate awareness of cultural differences.

3. Acts as charge nurse as assigned. Assigns nursing care to team members in accordance with patient's needs and the personnel's capabilities and qualifications and assigns other duties as needed.

4. Initiates and completes individualized nursing plans of care.

5. Participates in orientation of new personnel and performance evaluations of nursing staff.
