What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residence Supervisor position at Brooklyn Community Housing & Services, Inc.?
Position: Residence Supervisor on a multi-disciplinary team in a supervised Community Residence serving formerly homeless, mentally ill adults.
Qualifications: B.A. degree in social services or related field preferred. Minimum of three years experience in mental health facility or community residence preferred. At least one year as a supervisor necessary.
Reports to: Director of OMH Residential Program Services.
Responsibilities: Oversee the daily administrative, budgetary, clinical and regulatory functions of Ivy House. Supervise a team that supports the development and maintenance of independent living skills for persons with mental illness by means of providing rehabilitative and support services to residents. Take part in overall policy/program planning and be responsible for implementing and monitoring those policies/programs that relate to Ivy House.
Work with the team to ensure overall maintenance of the facility and the safety of the residents.
Duties Include:
- Oversee the coordination of service delivery both within the program and in the community. Services will range from daily counseling to accessing community based medical, mental health, substance abuse treatment, day treatment/training programs as well as ensuring access to benefits entitlements and recreational activities.
- Oversee the team’s service delivery through case management, advocacy, referrals, activity groups, community meetings, etc.
- Ensure orientation for new staff and develop training modules in accordance
with program and staff needs.
- Develop and implement systems, policies and procedures that meet programmatic needs and regulatory mandates with particular focus on rehabilitative services.
- Run regularly scheduled team meetings, case conferences, clinicals etc. to ensure team building, communication and training in case-management and related skills.
- Oversee daily functioning of the facility, re: inspections, fire drills, maintenance request in accordance with Agency and State, standards.
- Oversee scheduling of staff shifts and other attendance issues.
- Work closely with Intake/Benefits Coordinator re: admissions, discharge orientation, benefits, entitlements.
- Interface with other BCHS program managers and staff through attendance at manager meetings, Department meetings and general staff meetings, etc.
- Represent the program/agency philosophy in meetings with other agencies.Develop resources in the community that will enhance independent living skills for residents.
- Be available by beeper for emergency contact.

Pay: $66,950.00 per year
