Marine Road Mechanic

Looking for self-motivated mechanic with 3 to 5 years’ experience, willing and able to make all repairs as directed by the Supervisor on BBI/NRBL equipment. 

Essential Functions:

• Diagnose, repair, and perform maintenance on all BBI/NRBL equipment in shop and in the field as needed.
• Manual labor task consisting of offloading and backloading heavy equipment such as: Tugboats, Crew Boats, Barges, Cranes, and Heavy Equipment.
• Mechanical experience is necessary. Must be able to grasp, follow, and quickly respond to moderately complex instructions unsupervised.
• Must be able to work with: Engines, Clutches, Hydraulic systems, and 12/24 Volt Electrical systems.
• Must be able to work on engines such as: Detroit Diesel, Cummins, John Deere and Perkins.
• Must be able to work on out board motors and lower units such as: Suzuki, Yamaha, Evinrude.
• Must be able to work with extremely heavy and fast-moving equipment in a safe and expedient manner. 
• The mechanic is expected to keep the company truck clean and in working order.

• Ability to work both in groups and individually to meet goals and to develop strong working relationships with internal and external customers and team members.

Job Type:

• Full-time

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday schedule including after hour calls as needed on rotation.
• On call rotation
• Weekends as needed
