Responsibilities:
- Understand and perform complete operations of press.
- Maintain accuracy and quality on all jobs.
- Monitor and inspect parts as they come off the press to meet customer specifications.
- Meet production deadlines.
- Maintain efficiencies at the established rates for each operation along with quality on all jobs.
- Understand the use of measuring tools and gauges required for the department.
- Cooperate with supervisor, lead person and fellow employees.
- Understand the operation of all equipment where documented training has been completed.
- Follow all safety procedures and company policy.
- Maintain a clean and safe worksite as per Brunk high standards
- Complete data collection in a timely and accurate manner.
Skills:
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Use of various measuring equipment for the required job.
- Use of Move tickets.
- Use of Statistical Process Control to predict trends and solve problems before they are encountered.
- Trained to use Smart Pac controls and press peripheral equipment.
Education:
Minimum educational requirements listed below may be substituted by relevant experience, learned competencies and/or certifications obtained throughout one’s career.
- Prior experience in the metal fabricating or similar industry as a press operator is desired but not necessary.
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
Work Environment/Physical requirements/Protective Clothing Required:
- Work is in a manufacturing setting with noise and some grinding dust and fumes.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and push/pull 100 to 2500 lbs. using carts and moving equipment.
- Must wear protective shoes, safety glasses, gloves, shop shirt and wear ear protection while working around loud noises.
