Access Control Officer - Newport News, VA
- Unarmed Security Officers perform a variety of security-related duties depending on the post.
- Patrolling and monitoring exterior and community areas on-premises.
- Access control of entrances and exits and departure of employees and visitors.
- Monitoring surveillance cameras for any disruptions or unlawful activities.
- Must have the ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Must be able to understand, explain, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, directives, and procedures per contract.
- Provide detailed reports on daily activities and incidents that may have occurred.
- Knowledgeable and able to effectively use magnetometer and X-ray machines.
- Using provided communication devices such as two-way radios clearly and concisely.
- Performing CPR or first aid when needed.
- Ensure credentials are maintained per contract requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Project Manager.
Required Qualifications :
- High school diploma, a General Education Degree (GED) recognized by the U.S.
- Associates Degree
- knowledgeable of the security industry
- Must have a customer service driven mindset
- Ability to communicate effectively and present information to all levels of internal and external customers / clients.

BTI Security is currently accepting applications for Full-time and Part-time Unarmed Security Guards in Newport News, VA .
Multiple shifts operate on a rotating basis. Also, a requirement for a particular shift may consist of a Security Clearance.
Monday : 6am - 6pm (12 hours)
Tuesday -Thursday : 6pm 6am (36 hours)
Tuesday & Thursday : 6 : 30am - 6 : 30pm (24 hours)
Tuesday & Thursday : 7 : 00am 7 : 00pm (24 hours)
