Buckley Cable Construction is looking for experienced Coax/Fiber Splicers for immediate hire in the Sarasota FL area. The Splicer plays a crucial role in the installation and maintenance of fiber optic networks. This position involves working with various types of IT infrastructure, ensuring that connections are made efficiently and effectively. The ideal candidate will be skilled in fiber splicing and possess a strong understanding of computer networking principles. This role requires both technical expertise and hands-on experience with tools and equipment necessary for the job.
Duties
- Assemble and maintain electrical systems and equipment
- Install, repair, and maintain power cables and lines
- Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical systems
- Read blueprints and wiring diagrams
- Test electrical systems and equipment for proper operation
- Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment
- Ability to read and understand engineering diagrams
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools
- Good problem solving skills
- Ability to work independently
Skills
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, including Ethernet and WAN technologies.
- Proficiency in fiber splicing techniques and best practices.
- Familiarity with computer networking concepts and troubleshooting methods.
- Experience using hand tools and specialized equipment for network installation.
- Ability to climb safely and work at heights using bucket trucks when necessary.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
Requirements
- Must pass drug screening and background check.
- Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
- Must be able to lift and move up to 60 lbs., carry and climb ladders, and work outside during all weather conditions.
- Use hand tools.
- Ability to endure long periods of standing, sitting, and walking.
- Must pass a background check and drug screen
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Valid driver's license required
- Ability to work on call, evenings and weekends as needed
