Summary of the role:
The claims intern will learn about commercial general liability and worker’s compensation claims handling and the fundamentals of the claims function within the organization. Key concepts include learning the life-cycle of a claim from intake through final resolution. The Claims intern will spend time assisting our support team with claims intake and then move on to our worker’s compensation and general liability claims departments.
What would be your day in the life at Builders?
• Assist in the claim’s intake process.
• Generalized coverage reviews for all lines of business.
• Assist in the investigation of claims, to include contacting interested parties and documenting findings.
• Assist in drafting claims correspondence.
• Attend mediations with claim personnel, virtually and in person.
• Participate in special claims-specific projects as assigned.
