Description
The Behavioral Health Intervention (BHIS) Specialist is responsible for facilitating client growth by promoting skill building in the areas including but not limited to social skills, communication skills, problem solving skills, conflict resolution skills, and interpersonal relationship skills. The BHIS Provider understands the mental health needs of the client and develops a treatment plan in a collaborative effort with the therapist who did the assessment, and if the client is continuing to receive therapy, with the therapist seeing the client. The BHIS Provider is committed to working both with the individual child and with the family, and is expected to work evenings and nights as needed to accommodate the client family schedules. As appropriate, BHIS Provider coordinates service with the Burgess Mental Health clinical treatment team. The Service Interventions are written to match client’s mental health needs. Specific services include Health and Behavior Intervention, Crisis Intervention, Skill Development and Training, and Community Psychiatric Supportive Treatment.
This position requires a Bachelor Degree. Preferred degree is in a field related to mental health but not required. Previous mental health experience or similar preferred.
