The ideal candidate will lead the design, development, and optimization of advanced electrical systems and components, ensuring compliance with stringent safety and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities
- Lead Electrical Design: Oversee and execute complex electrical design projects for nuclear facilities, including schematics, layouts, and specifications for advanced systems and components.
- Technical Expertise: Serve as the SME for nuclear electrical engineering challenges, offering in-depth technical knowledge and innovative solutions tailored to the unique demands of nuclear projects.
- Standards and Compliance: Ensure all designs meet applicable nuclear codes, regulations, and safety standards, such as IEEE 323, 344, and NRC regulatory guides.
- System Integration: Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate electrical systems into nuclear plant designs, ensuring compatibility with mechanical, structural, and process systems.
- Prototyping and Testing: Oversee the development and rigorous testing of prototypes to validate design integrity, performance, and compliance with nuclear industry standards.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare comprehensive design documentation, specifications, and technical reports to support regulatory submissions and project execution.
- Risk Management: Identify potential technical risks unique to nuclear projects and implement strategies to mitigate them during design and implementation.
- Innovation: Incorporate cutting-edge advancements in electrical engineering, materials, and technologies into nuclear designs, ensuring efficiency and safety.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of electrical design and engineering experience.
- Technical Expertise:
- Deep knowledge of electrical systems, high-voltage systems, and control systems for nuclear facilities.
- Familiarity with nuclear-specific standards, such as IEEE 384, 603, and NRC regulations.
- Proven ability to perform circuit analysis, load calculations, and fault studies specific to nuclear systems.
- Certifications:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
