Applicants must be at least 25 years old, have a high school diploma or GED, and hold a valid state-issued driver's license, accompanied by a current 3-year DMV printout with no moving violations or "at fault" accidents in the past three years. Proficiency in operating a hydraulic wheelchair lift is essential for safe loading and unloading of residents.
Familiarity with smart mobile technology, GPS applications, and hands-free cell phones is vital for navigating and providing timely transportation. Successful candidates must demonstrate physical capability to step up and down, bend, and secure clients for transport, as well as lift up to 50 lbs. Adherence to HIPAA guidelines and confidentiality mandates is crucial.
Finally, effective communication and organization skills are necessary for updating logbooks and assisting residents with their transportation needs.
Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
- CDL license not required.
- Must be 25 years of age or older (BTV Insurance requirement) with a High School diploma or GED.
- Must possess a valid state-issued non-expired driver's license and provide a current 3-year DMV printout. No moving violations or "at fault" accidents within the past 3 years.
- Must be able to operate the hydraulic wheelchair lift to load/unload residents into/off the vehicle safely.
- Ability to understand and operate smart mobile technology, GPS applications, and hands-free cell phones.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English.
- Ability to physically step up and down, bend, stoop, safely secure clients for transport lift up to 50 lbs., and transport wheelchair clients on paved and unpaved surfaces.
- Ability to adhere to HIPAA and client confidentiality mandates.
- Update and maintain mileage/passenger logbooks daily/monthly.
- Provides assistance at the Transportation desk to all residents regarding appointments and transportation needs.
- Assists in generating a daily report of medical transportation for all drivers, receptionists and supervisors. These reports will contain relevant information using the transportation computer scheduling system.
