What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fiber Optic Splicer I and II position at CableCom LLC?
This position will have experience, or the ability to be trained, in mass fusion splicing, single splicing, splice audit verification, OTDR, and power meter testing. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability and integrity of our fiber optic infrastructure.
Pay range is based on experience level. We are looking to hire a Splicer 1 and Splicer 2.
Job Responsibilities
- Splicing various types of Fiber optic cable
- Opening, bonding, grounding, splice head, and hand holes, etc.
- Identify and troubleshoot basic optical problems, minimizing network downtime
- Install network equipment
- Install fiber optic enclosures
- Provide acceptable testing and turn-over of splicing on time
- Maintain accurate records
- Continuous focus on safety
- Other duties as assigned
Education/Qualifications
- Must have a High School diploma
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable
- Ability to identify and distinguish colors
- Ability to Work with Google Earth KMZ’s and KML’s and accurately read construction prints
- Understanding of utility construction installation methodologies, blueprint reading, and understanding of requirement/specification technical requirements
- Provide on-call support and work a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends, to address customer needs promptly
- Prior fiber splicing experience is preferred
