**Overview:**
We are seeking a highly organized and skilled Nurse/Medical Paralegal to join our team. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter that will bring their medical training and experience to the litigation practice, particularly in defense-related matters.
**Responsibilities:**
-Summarize the medical aspects of the case with respect to the issues.
-Provide recommendations with respect to further medical and legal discovery.
-Research, analyze and summarize medical data.
-Obtain, review and digest medical records for primarily litigation defense matters such as, medical malpractice, product liability, personal injury and workers' compensation.
-Serve as a liaison between the law firm and the medical facilities, doctors, etc.
-Assist in drafting various pleadings, discovery documents and responses.
-Coordinate the production of documents and provide overall document control.
-Arrange for and assist with the preparation of depositions.
-Attend hearings when appropriate and summarize the proceedings.
-Organize and prepare exhibits, charts, graphs, etc. for trial.
**Experience:**
- Minimum three years' experience as an RN preferred.
- Legal experience in a law firm, corporate entity, insurance carrier, etc, as a litigation paralegal and/or legal secretary may be substituted for RN experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office programs required.
- Strong knowledge of legal drafting and document management systems
- Familiarity with iManage or similar software is preferred
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations with professionalism
- Good phone etiquette and communication skills
