Contract Part-Time Python Developer
Caktus has grown sharp web and SMS applications for business, higher education, and social good since 2007. Our award-winning team focuses on developing for impact and scalability. We specialize in custom Django apps and also offer discovery workshops, best practices consulting, and team augmentation. As a full-service shop, Caktus aims to provide clients with an expertly curated experience throughout development. Past and current clients include Creative Commons, Duke Health, UNDP, Truth Initiative, PBS, and others in media, travel, education, finance, and health research.
We are looking for an experienced Python developer with a MINIMUM of five (5) years of development experience and two (2) years of contracting experience. Caktus’ engagement with our contractors is on a project-by-project basis, allowing a great deal of flexibility for your life outside of work.
In this role, you will use your senior-level skills to create VELOCITY. Specifically:
- Review PRs for accuracy according to our client's specifications
- Write development plans to improve ticket-writing processes between our team and our client's team
- Perform code reviews and use the git flow branching model to stay in sync with the team
- Follow client-based development methodologies and take part in regular team meetings
This is an hourly contract position with an average of 10-15 hours per week. The rate of pay is negotiated and set on a per-project basis. The contract will run from June to October 2024, and we need someone who is available to start immediately.
