Job Summary:
-
Maintains efficient day-to-day operations of the hospital’s physical plant and other Calvert Health sites, including the electrical, mechanical, plumbing, medical gas systems, and any other related subsystems. Works with supervisor in leading maintenance staff in completing assigned work orders to include all preventive maintenance, PM’s.

Education:
-
High School Diploma required. Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical Engineering preferred or 3-5 years equivalent combination of education and experience in related area. Technical training in mechanical and electrical systems required. Up to six (6) months on-the-job training provided to gain proficiency.

Registration/Certification/Licensure:
-
Unexpired, unsuspended driver’s license if incumbent will be required to drive as part of their routine job duties.

Unexpired Certified Healthcare Facility Manager certification; or
-
Unexpired Certified Health Care Physical Environment Worker certification; or
-
Other unexpired related facilities maintenance certification, preferred.

Member or eligible for membership in the American Society for Hospital Engineering (AHA) preferred.

Experience:
-
Position requires 2-3 years combined experience in all aspects of plant operations, including preventive maintenance. Must be able to read and interpret blueprints. Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Other Requirements:

Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements.

Effectively communicates by implementing organization-wide communication techniques as a daily practice.

Demonstrated proficiency of computer skills necessary to effectively complete position requirements.

Previous experience and demonstrated professionalism in effectively communicating with customers and in promoting a positive service atmosphere.

May require the ability to drive as part of routine job duties.

Specific technical skills may be required to fulfill job duties and department requirements.

Ability to work independently, prioritize concurrent projects, meet deadlines, follow through with deliverables, and produce quality work.
