Camp Ramah is a vibrant non-profit summer camp in upstate NY, where Campers in grades 3-10, grow in a beautiful and safe setting. Surrounded by life-long friends and nurtured by spirited role models and outstanding program staff, we craft an immersive and powerful community. From sports to the arts, swimming to outdoor adventure. Camp is a transformative experience for campers, staff, and families from both across the New York metropolitan area and around the world.

Camp is seeking dynamic and outstanding staff members of all experience levels to join our summer waterfront team. On-Site certification is available. Lifeguard positions can be residential or commuting.

Reponsibliites

  • Conduct swim lessons for individuals or groups of varying ages and skill levels
  • Provide engaging instruction on proper swimming techniques, water safety, and rescue skills
  • Monitor all swimmers to ensure their safety and provide corrective feedback
  • As part of a large team, maintain a safe, secure and engaging enviroment at all times

Qualifications

  • Be at least 17 years old as ofJune of 2024.
  • Previous experience as a swim instructor or lifeguard for children/teens preferred.
  • Remain alert in order to hear noises and distress signals in the aquatic environment, including in the water and anywhere around the zone of responsibility.
  • Meets strength and lifting requirements outlined during training.
  • Sees and observes all sections of an assigned zone or area of responsibility.
  • Ability to stand or sit while maintaining alertness for an extended period of time.
  • Must be able to lift and assist children in the water.
  • Be eligible to obtain Lifeguard, CPR, and First Aid certifications.

Dates: Staff training starts June 6. Camp runs from June 26 – August 15.

Summer Compensation: $2000-$5000 depending on experience and position. Opportunities exist for additional responsibilities in the pre & post season. Room and Board provided while in residence at Camp. Commuting Positions Available,
