GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Cape Henry Collegiate seeks a dynamic and forward-thinking Upper School social studies teacher with a strong background in U.S. government and modern world history to join our team as a full-time teacher beginning in August 2023. The teaching load for this position will likely include AP Comparative Government and U.S. Government and Politics, but ultimately may be shaped based upon the skills and qualifications of the teacher hired. Under direction of the Division Head, plan and provide for appropriate learning experiences for students. Create and provide an environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social and emotional development of individuals to ensure success for every student. Supervise students in a variety of school related settings. Monitor and evaluate student outcomes. Communicate and interact with students, parents, staff and community. Develop, select and modify instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students. Maintain appropriate records and follows required procedures and practices. Monitor appropriate use and care of equipment, materials and facilities.
We are looking for a candidate with AP experience but encourage all qualified and interested social studies teachers to apply. Our primary focus is to onboard a student-centric and collaborative teacher who is excited to join the CHC community. Education and experience:
Successful candidates will have a relevant bachelor’s degree, master’s degree preferred, and at least three years of teaching experience.
