Position Overview: As the preschool assistant, you will play a pivotal role in nurturing the intellectual, emotional, and social development of young children. You will create a safe, stimulating, child-centered learning environment that fosters curiosity and independence.
Responsibilities:
- Follow all state regulations regarding childcare programs.
- Follow a schedule for the classroom which includes the state required components such as snack time, lunch, rest time, and movement (weather permitting outside or inside motor activities).
- Create and maintain daily/weekly family communication.
- Communicate with individual parents, as needed.
- Ensure classroom materials are maintained and kept clean and report any instances of unsafe materials to the director for replacement or repair.
- Create engaging and age appropriate activities for all learners.
- Utilize appropriate behavioral techniques for reinforcement of positive behaviors and to limit unwanted behaviors in the classroom environment.
- Maintain child care certification up to date (training hours).
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with preschool-aged children.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, observation, and collaboration skills.
- Patient, empathetic, and enthusiastic about working with young learners.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and a growth mindset.
