The Bethlehem YMCA is looking for dynamic individuals to fill seasonal positions of Ice Rink Guard, Ice Rink Assistant, Ice Rink Instructor, and Zamboni Driver for its indoor ice skating rink. Under the general direction of the Ice Rink Director/Arena Coordinator, beginning September 1, 2024 these positions will help with/oversee the instruction of various programs for youths and adults, ensuring the safety and well-being of the participants and members in the program.
CURRENT INDOOR ICE VACANCIES
- Ice Rink Instructor – Multiple positions available. Days/Nights/Weekdays/Weekend
- Zamboni Driver – Multiple positions available. Weeknights and Weekends

ICE RINK GUARD - $15.00 PER HOUR- OVERSEES THE SAFETY OF THE ICE DURING "OPEN SKATE"

- Must be at least 16 years of age. (MINORS: Current NYS Working Papers are required)
- Must be a proficient skater.
- Must be able to enforce rules of the ice rink.
- Excellent human relation skills, good organizational and communication skills.
ICE RINK ASSISTANT - $15.05 - HELPS WITH INSTRUCTION, ENSURING SAFETY OF PARTICIPANTS

- Must be at least 16 years of age (MINORS: Current NYS Working Papers are required)
- Must be proficient ice skater including the ability to skate forward, backward, and stop proficiently.
- Must be able to enforce rules of the ice rink.
- Prior organized sports or recreation experience preferred, preferably in a supervisory or lead role.
- CPR and First Aid certifications preferred.
ZAMBONI DRIVER - $15.05 - PERFORMS MAINTENANCE FOR THE ICE RINK, INCLDUING ICE MAKING

- HS Diploma or equivalent.
- Ice Rink experience required.
- Valid US Drivers License.
- Demonstrated ability to operate Zamboni machine.
- Construction/maintenance background preferred.

ICE RINK INSTRUCTOR - $20.14 - RUNS THE ASSIGNED LEARNED TO SKATE PROGRAMS FOR YOUTH AND FAMILIES

- Must be a proficient ice skater.
- Must be reliable and responsible.
- Must be able to enforce rules of the ice rink.
- Appropriate professional certifications.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to successfully demonstrate the skills being taught to participants.
- Knowledge of USFSA Learn to Skate or USA Hockey Learn to Skate Program.
- Must have the ability to effectively teach and communicate with children including the ability to lead and motivate.
