Capital Health Consulting LLC (CHC) is a bi-partisan health and human services boutique Government Relations and Consulting firm based in Albany, New York. CHC was established to meet the growing needs of health and human service clients and is a woman-owned business. The team at CHC consists of experienced policy experts and clinicians with more than 100 years of combined experience in the public and private sectors, offering its clients insights into healthcare, budgetary, and legislative processes.


Role Description

This is a full-time position for a Lobbyist (Health and Human Services) at Capital Health Consulting. The Lobbyist will engage in lobbying activities, government relations, legislative processes, and budget negotiations. This role is primarily located in Albany, New York.


Responsibilities

  • Drive policy analysis and research
  • Manage a client portfolio
  • Lobby policymakers and relevant stakeholders
  • Develop legislative priorities for CHC clients
  • Oversee Legislative Bill Files
  • Draft legislation and memos of support/opposition
  • Expand key relationships within New York State
  • Represent CHC and our clients in legislative and governmental affairs
  • Prepare press releases, legislative updates, and necessary deliverables


Qualifications

The successful candidate will have...

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
  • Collaborative interactions with a wide range of stakeholders and team members
  • Curiosity and a passion for learning and making a difference in healthcare
  • Exceptional critical thinking and active listening skills
  • Experience in health and human services policy advocacy
  • Government relations and legislative experience
  • Understanding of the political landscape and decision-making processes in New York State
  • Strong knowledge of the Legislative and Appropriations process
  • Government relations and legislative experience
  • (Preferred) 3 Years of Lobbying and Government Affairs experience


Salary

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience


Travel

Less than 15%
