Cardinal FG, a float glass manufacturer for residential windows, is looking for Cold End Technicians who work safely, have a strong work ethic, are dependable, have a positive attitude, and work effectively in a team environment.
Cardinal offers a 12-hour rotating every 2 weeks (day/night), working on 2, 2, 3 days. Working half the days of the year, this schedule provides every other weekend off.
May need to start as a part-time employee and could transition to full-time employment, pending availability and performance.

Position Summary:
In a float glass manufacturing plant that runs 24/7, a Cold End Technician packs glass in proper orientation onto racks to prepare it for customer shipment.
- The Technician maintains a count of the number of lites (pieces of glass) placed on the rack.
- Checks for defects or bad cuts. Communicates with cutter lab and supervisor as needed.
- Sweeps and cleans the work area. Cleans the photo eyes and TV screens. Notifies supervisor and others as appropriate if there is a problem.
- The Technician must demonstrate a solid work ethic through diligent effort, good decision-making, functioning as a good team member, and improving Cold End operations.
- The Technician works collaboratively with coworkers on own and other shifts, supervisors, and management.
- Completes duties to assist Cold End team. Completes other duties as assigned.
Helps accomplish department goals in these areas (specific targets should be produced by department):
- Safety - incident rate, improvements in safe acts and conditions, PPE use, plant damage, housekeeping guidelines followed.
- Quality/Customer needs- quality of work, internal reject rate; customer needs met - may include customer reject rate, customer visits, effectiveness of corrective actions, on time delivery.

Requirements:
- High school diploma or GDE equivalent
- Tape measure reading and basic math skills needed
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
- 1 year of manufacturing experience prefer
- Desire to work in a team environment
- Read customer specs.
