What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Director position at Care Age of Brookfield?
Care-Age of Brookfield is a privately-owned, 110-bed skilled nursing facility located in a residential area.
We are looking for a hands-on Maintenance Director with experience in health care.
Responsibilities:
- Performs general maintenance work on a daily basis, including replacing light bulbs, repairing electrical, plumbing, HVAC and appliances. This includes performing routine preventative maintenance.
- Participates with Administrator in survey processes by: instructing staff regarding conduct and disclosure, reporting, being present at all times surveyors are on-site, directing prompt responses to requests for information and undertaking corrective action, if appropriate.
- Promptly responds to emergency needs. Coordinates facility fire and disaster drills. Provides training of employees on Fire drills, lockout tagout and hazard communication.
- Regularly communicates with Administrator regarding physical plant, equipment, personnel and budget issues, and makes recommendations regarding the same.
- Performs quality assessment and assurance functions, including but not limited to: serving on quality and assurance committees, conducting routine inspections, reviewing findings, implementing corrective measures as appropriate.
- Ensures proper documentation is maintained.
- Carries out responsibilities in compliance with Federal, State, local laws and regulations, and with the facility policy and procedures.
- Obtains bids for Project Authorization Requests
Qualifications:
- Requires two years of related maintenance experience and some formal training in on or all the following areas: Carpentry, plumbing, painting, HVAC, cleaning, electricity
- Ability to perform general maintenance repair needs, problem solve, organize, communicate and cooperate with others
- Knowledgeable in building codes and safety regulations
- Possess the ability to make independent decisions, to follow instructions, to prioritize, and to accept constructive criticism.
- Ability to minimize waste of supplies, misuse of equipment, etc
- Drivers' license per facility requirements
- Ability to address complaints and resolving problems
