Irrigation Technician

Position Summary

The Irrigation Technician is responsible for assuring our clients are efficiently using water to maintain optimum landscape health and appearance by providing irrigation installation, maintenance and service of various commercial properties. The Irrigation Technician position will be responsible for working with programs and adjusting computer-controlled irrigation systems for efficiency and client cost-effectiveness.

Essential Functions:

• Installation - Installs, repair, and replaces irrigation systems, inspects, adjusts, charges up, tests and manages all aspects of new irrigation system installations including using company provided iPad to program the monitors and controllers.
• Preventative Maintenance – To improve system efficiencies and conserve our client’s water usage, the irrigation tech will create and schedule a maintenance plan. On a monthly basis, will inspect all jobs for adjustments, resets, repairs or replacements (broken pipes, sprinklers, controllers, etc..) needed to reduce any water loss. Work is completed during the workday and on call emergencies. Will plan and schedule work to provide preventative maintenance and efficient performance to quickly locate and repair broken pipes, sprinklers etc. to reduce water loss and assure proper operating systems.
• Administrative – Manages inventory of parts and tools. Compile and prepare necessary maps, reports and records.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Competencies

•  Knowledgeable in the operation and service all required tools and equipment
• Proficient with the use of computers and tablets and experience with central control software programs
• Production oriented and experience meeting billable quota of hours
• Strong work ethic
• Strong attention to detail and safety
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities

Education/Experience/Licenses

• 1 year of irrigation the experience where you were responsible for charge up, installation, programming controllers and monitors, conducting scheduled maintenance, repairs on commercial accounts - required
• 1 year of programming controllers using tablets - required
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle report - required

Work Environment

• Work is performed outside most of the time, under varying and extreme weather conditions. Ability to work in environmental conditions which may include direct sunlight for extended periods of time, rain, wind, dust and the high Arizona desert heat where temperatures could get as high as 120 degrees

Physical Requirements

Frequently stand, walk, or crouch on narrow and/or slippery surfaces; stoop, kneel, bend to pick up or move objects; walk for long distances and on sloped ground and uneven surfaces; move, lift, and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds;

Travel Required

 This may require in state an out of state business travel based on business needs.

Pay: $21.00 - $27.00 per hour
