CAREY ANIMAL CLINIC
We are a 3-doctor practice, serving families with small companion animals in the New Lenox and surrounding areas. We are looking to add a part-time veterinary technician/assistant to join our team. The right applicant will have excellent communication skills, teamwork skills, and a positive attitude. (CVT license is a plus, but is not required).
Our Veterinary Technicians are responsible for a variety of duties around the clinic. Some of those responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Checking in appointments and surgeries
· Accurately fill medications
· Efficiently and effectively place catheters ( IV, and Urinary)
· Efficiently and effectively draw blood for diagnostic testing (jugular, cephalic, saphenous)
· Recommended, but not required, to assist with surgical procedures, monitor during anesthesia, and familiarity with anesthetic drug protocol
· Be able to accurately preform ear cytologies, skin cytologies, fecal floatation tests, and snap 4DX tests, etc.
· Proper animal handling and restraint
· Medicating hospitalized or sick patients
· General hospital maintenance (cleaning cages, feedings, keeping treatment area clean, etc.)
· Routinely call owners in a timely and professional manner

· Familiarity with Cornerstone and IDEXX equipment is a plus, but not required.
Shift Details: 0-25hr/week (part-time) Saturdays and evening a must; some holidays as well.
