About The Role

We are looking for a Cloud Engineer intern with a strong interest in Cloud (AWS), Kubernetes and infrastructure automation. This internship will provide hands-on experience working with cutting-edge technologies and DevOps practices in a real world environment.

This role is positioned within our Cloud Engineering team and works closely with our various Product Engineering teams to collaborate on new projects, operate and maintain the existing platform, and look ahead to what is in the future with AWS.

Responsibilities

• Work with Kubernetes: Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot applications running on our EKS clusters
• Assist in Cloud Infrastructure Management: Help configure and optimize cloud environments
• Automate Deployments: Learn and use tools like Terraform, Helm, and GitOps workflows to automate cloud infrastructure
• Monitor and Optimize performance: Utilize logging and monitoring tools (Datadog, Prometheus, New Relic) to track system health and performance
• Enhance Security and Compliance: Assist in implementing best practices for Security in cloud-native applications
• Collaborate with Engineers: Work closely with experienced cloud engineers, participate in stand-ups and contribute to real-world projects.
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related fie
• Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts and at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and containerization using Docker
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automation tools
• Knowledge of Linux environments and basic scripting using Bash, Python or Go
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands on experience with Kubernetes deployments and helm charts
• Exposure to infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or Cloud formation
• Knowledge of of cloud networking, IAM, and security best practices
• Experience with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana or Cloudwatch
• Contributions to open-source cloud projects or personal projects
  
  

About Our Internship Program

Our Summer Internship Program at Cars Commerce is designed to help undergraduate students learn professional skills through a combination of mentorship, on the job training, in-person skills training/development days, and team projects.

Program Details & Benefits

• Program Duration: June 9th - August 16th
• Pay Rate: $17.50/hour
• Hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week
• Location: Hybrid (Work remote and work from the office 1-2 days out of the week)
• Equipment: Company issued laptop provided

Salary Range

$29,800.00-35,000.00
