What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Kayaker position at Cascade Raft & Kayak?

As a safety kayaker, you will accompany the rafts as they navigate the rapids of the Payette River, offer any necessary assistance, interact with a diverse group of guests, and coordinate a safe and fun rafting trip.
New hires are provided with river section specific training (rapid lines and familiarization, safety protocols, and area information) that prepares them to kayak the South Fork of the Payettes class IV whitewater. Applicants should be outgoing, hard-working and ready to spend a summer on the river. Prior experience, confidence and competence in kayaking at least class IV whitewater is expected.
In addition to getting paid to go kayaking, this position offers a fun and fast-paced environment as part of a cohesive and encouraging team of coworkers. A staff campground and meal plan are provided, as are opportunities for personal rafting and kayaking. The Cascade Raft & Kayak work experience offers opportunities for leadership, teamwork, confidence, fulfillment and fun found in few other workplaces.

Starting pay rate: $90 per day

Long summer days and continuously flowing rivers mean you can work a full day and still go kayaking afterwards.
