What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute Teacher (Long Term) position at Cathedral School?
Cathedral Catholic School, forms students into critical thinkers, virtuous leaders, and living saints. Cathedral School is looking for a mission-driven long-term substitute Third/Fourth grade teacher. The position is for approximately 12 weeks beginning January 2025. There may be potential for additional employment opportunities after the substitute position is over.
Primary functions include the following:
- Cultivate student habits that lead to lifelong virtues.
- Honor each child’s dignity and foster the individual potential of all.
- Implement daily lessons and evaluate student progress.
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a peaceful and orderly learning environment, conducive to the growth and development of children.
- Monitor individual and/or groups of children in a variety of settings (e.g. classroom, playground, hallways, etc.) for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.
- Communicate thoughtfully with parents via telephone, notes, email, and in-person conferences.
- Conduct behavior that is professional, collegial, confidential, and respectful.
PREFEREED QUALIFICATIONS
- Pursuing or holding a bachelor's degree
- Pursuing or holding a Teaching Licensure
- Have experience and training in teaching early elementary students.
- Demonstrate ability to work effectively and collegially with others.
- Demonstrate ability to make prudent decisions.
