OVERVIEW
The Development Coordinator plays a key role in supporting and enhancing the fundraising efforts of our organization. Reporting to the Director of Development, this position is responsible for coordinating various aspects of the development program, including donor relations, data management, event planning, and coordinating corporate-level meetings.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about our mission, with excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Donor Relations and Stewardship
- Manage donor relationships and communications, including acknowledgment letters, receipts, and periodic updates.
- Support the Director of Development in cultivating and stewarding donor relationships.
- Prepare reports on donor contributions, and track and report on development goals and outcomes.
Event Planning and Coordination
- Coordinate virtual or in-person meetings, workshops, and special events to engage donors and supporters.
Data Management
- Maintain accurate donor records, ensuring timely updates in the donor database.
- Create mailing lists and segmented donor lists from donor database.
- Track and report on donation activity, trends, and donor engagement metrics.
- Coordinate gift processing and reconciliation with the finance team to ensure accuracy.
Communications and Marketing Support
- Collaborate on fundraising campaigns, donor appeals, and marketing materials.
- Assist with content creation for newsletters, annual report, social media, email campaigns, and other digital channels to support development goals.
- Prepare collateral and presentations to support donor meetings and events.
Administrative Support
- Provide administrative support to the development team, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and taking meeting minutes.
- Assist with grant applications, tracking, and reporting.
- Handle incoming inquiries from donors, sponsors, and stakeholders, directing them to the appropriate team members.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Suitable work experience may be considered as transferable skills in order to meet minimum requirements of the position and will be considered by the Executive Director of Human Resources.
- Associate's Degree in related field
- 2 years of experience in senior level administrative support
- Proven skills utilizing Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong communication skills - oral and written are clear, concise, and in an organized fashion using appropriate style, grammar, and tone
- Strong knowledge of numbers, their operations, and interrelationships
- Proven record of excellent customer service and teamwork
- Ability to obtain and maintain Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card and FBI National Criminal Records History Report
- Valid driver license, proof of insurance, and 39-month motor vehicle report
REGULATORY
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid driver license, proof of insurance, and 39-month motor vehicle report
- Ability to obtain and maintain Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card and FBI National Criminal Records History Report (employer paid)
- Pass pre-employment drug screen (incudes marijuana, regardless of recreational use laws) (employer paid)
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in related field
- Additional years of directly-related experience
- Experience with donor management database(s)
- Bilingual in English and Spanish, verbal and written
