Catholic Funeral & Cemetery Services is Hiring a Payroll & Benefits Specialist Near Pleasanton, CA

Responsibilities:

  • Become the expert is payroll and benefits for cemetery employees
  • Ensures accuracy of payroll and benefit administration from the time a new hire begins, through the duration of their employment, and exit from the organization.
  • Act as a resource to all employees, managers, and other leadership on any questions related to state, local, and organization specific rules and regulations.
  • Take initiative in learning all nuances of payroll and benefits 
  • Be willing and eager to engage team members and support the locations.

Education & Experience:

  • High School diploma/GED, and/or 5-7 years of experience in a HR or payroll environment, performing HR and payroll administration support or a related college degree and 3-5 years of related experience.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Knowledge of the Catholic faith, rituals, and traditions
  • Ability to coordinate with many internal departments and external providers
  • Aptitude for taking initiative and use critical thinking to find answers to complex problems
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Strong time management skills and able to meet tight deadlines
  • Proficient in the use of computers, software, and technology
  • Knowledge of CA labor laws
  • Team player who is engaged in building rapport with employees
  • Ability to communicate well with employees and all levels of management
  • Experience in managing sensitive information and exercising confidentiality
