We are currently seeking to fill the role of Accountant II in our Andalusia branch. The Accountant II works closely with the Controller as outlined in the job description below.
Prepares monthly general ledger entries, account reconciliations, and various other accounting reports to aid in the completion of financial reporting in an accurate and timely manner.
- Responsible for preparing various daily and monthly general ledger entries and using appropriate judgement to ensure all entries are in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Performs daily balancing and reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
- Assist with month-end closing process.
- Coordinates accounting matters with other departments and locations.
- Complete annual training as required by the Bank.
- Assist with gathering documentation for internal and external auditors.
- Assist with other accounting duties, as assigned.
- Crosstrain with other employees within the Accounting Department.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related degree.
- Master’s degree in Accounting and CPA preferred.
- Banking experience preferred.
- 5 years of experience in Accounting.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
- Knowledge of keyboard, calculator, scanner and other general office equipment.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
- Above average organizational skills.
- Above average time management skills.
- Above average degree of initiative and independence.
- Demonstrated analytic, written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to act in a discrete manner when dealing with sensitive information.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform work utilizing a computer for extended periods of time.
- Ability to grasp objects utilizing the fingers (fine motor manipulation).
- Ability to perform work utilizing a calculator.
- Ability to lift objects up to 25 lbs.
