What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Service Technician position at CED Baldwin-Hall (AIMM Services)?
DESCRIPTION OF THE ROLE:
The services technician is responsible for providing support to our local PC customer’s sites by doing specific services offered by AIMM Services. Specifically, these services will qualify to provide customer benefits through Assessments, Improving operations, Modernizing facilities or Mitigating risk.
The service technician delivers the highest level of customer service as he / she perform each service as contracted by the customer. These services will require skill sets and the expectation is that the technician is fully qualified and trainable to perform each of these to Rockwell / AIMM Services procedures and standards.
This position will work closely with the Services business development lead, profit centers and Services center to work as a team to meet or exceed customer expectations.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Technical:
a. Execute documented service offering procedures on-site at customer facilities.
i. Installed Base Evaluations
ii. Arc Flash Assessments
iii. Simple Drive Startups
iv. Infrared Surveys
v. Other services based upon skill level
b. Work with each customer and follow or exceed their onsite safety and work requirements
c. Perform onsite-contracted service within the policy/ procedures outlined by CED and within the customer guidelines listed above.
d. Implementation of the portfolio of the services that are to be CED performed and delivered.
e. Demonstrate core competency around Rockwell Automation products and associated manufacturing technology.
f. Closely manage risk by staying within scope of the project and closely following all safety procedures as noted by CED and the customers’ facility.
g. Act as representative of the services group and the local Profit Center while performing services on mission critical customer equipment and applications.
h. Present findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
i. Articulate the value of services offerings to customers during the lifecycle of the engagement.
j. Work with customers to determine customer problems, needs and goals thereby identifying opportunities for product and services that may be outside of the scope of your original engagement.
k. Document and cost work activities in appropriate, professional report format
l. Assist in the clarification and resolution of customer issues
m. Assist in the development of new customer facing services through customer intimacy and input.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
a) High School Diploma with industrial experience, Associate of Science Degree in Engineering or Technology, or equivalent technological training (e.g. technological training received while serving in the military or equivalent industry training).
b) Understanding knowledge of safe work practices in an industrial environment including but not limited to utilization personal protective equipment as required.
c) Demonstrate strong interpersonal communications, organizational and written/verbal communication skills
d) Demonstrate ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing demands
e) Examples of being self-motivated and able to work independently
f) Hands on experience with commercially available technology such as Microsoft excel, word, etc.
g) Demonstrate Strong analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills required
h) Exposure to Industrial Control Systems including PLC, HMI/SCADA, plant historian, motor control, motion control, etc. technology and applications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
a) 2yrs Hands on experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment
b) Exposure Lockout Tag out and Arc Flash standards and best practices
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Majority of work will be at customers’ operations in Upstate, NY and Northeast
a) Must be flexible for travel to and from customer’s sites.
b) Must be flexible for overnight stays during the week.
c) Must be flexible to travel for training purposes at manufacturers training centers in US.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
