The Smoking Aid Assistant is responsible for assisting residents who smoke, ensuring their safety and comfort while adhering to the nursing home's policies and regulations. This role involves escorting residents to designated smoking areas, monitoring their well-being during smoking breaks, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Escort residents to and from designated smoking areas in a safe and respectful manner.
- Monitor residents while they smoke to ensure their safety and provide assistance as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all nursing home policies, local, and state regulations regarding smoking.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of designated smoking areas.
- Provide respectful and compassionate support to residents, addressing any concerns or needs related to smoking breaks.
- Communicate effectively with nursing staff about residents' needs or issues observed during smoking breaks.
- Assist in the implementation of smoking cessation programs if required.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines to prevent accidents or injuries.
